VIRUSH is a technophilic packet-snatching’ virus-killing arcade-style game for Google Daydream. Featuring a pumping electronic soundtrack and played in spherical/360 degrees with your Daydream controller.
Virush was originally conceived to be a simple entertaining game inspired by games like Geometry Wars, Rez, and most importantly lead-developer Cale Bradbury’s past Snake-like game Snakes on a Cartesian Plane. It was designed to make maximum use of the Google Daydream headset and controllers’ range of motion and capabilities. Throughout development we found more opportunities for unique mechanics that improved upon the design like how the natural rolling hand motion with the controller led to tail looping as a game mechanic. Since we were early developers of the Daydream platform, the technology-driven theme grew into a compelling techno art style.Highlights
